While correcting some broken Image links in the Deathrock LA photo Journal (ahhhh, memories, good times...) i came across some that i hadnt shown yet. The Deep Eynde @ I believe the closing night of club Eterno in Long Beach @ the now gone 'Naga' venue.

I wanna thank marksplatter for dragging me out last night to the show. We managed to wander into a club called the Derby (apparently where they filmed large amounts of Swingers), just in time to get a drink that didn't suck my wallet dry and catch the floor show. And floor show, as they say, was definitely the operative.
The Fold are doing drugs onstage. Not that I needed to see syringes sticking outta arm crooks or lines drawn all over the stage. No, the pigs head and gauze wrapping of the lead singers skull was enough, and watching him attack his forerms and stomach through the bloodied butchers apron, day-glo rosaries swinging from his neck, that kind of tipped me off. Somehow they trainwreck into a sound like Christian Death stabbing the members of Dick Dale's backup band with pieces of glass left on the sidewalk by the hobos that infest these Los Angeles streets. Gloriously chaotic, fluxuating in a dn out of time slightly with each other only made the songs that much more fascinating. The singers gyrations, undulations, and palpitations, spasms on the dancefloor, his mindless obscenities........truly this is the band that will stick to the underground for years like gum on the afore-mentioned hobos nutsack, and years from now, Everyone will know the name as something to nod your head to in a knowing manner, and wish you had seen them (like Catholic Discipline, GG Allin, Stiffs Inc., or Gaff Stabber). And I'll be able to waggle my finger, as a crusty old deathpunk, with a smug smile that says, "Yes, I saw him hump a cross with two female manequins legs nailed to it in longing."

As for Ciril, Iggy Pop should watch his back. Stooges or MC5 power and Rudimentary Peni-style vocals and time signature/chord changes with enough brashness to make a few people step back a bit and make sure there's a table in between them. Watch out, that madman may just come for you, straight over the monitors (and maybe on his way to get a drink). I managed to snag a CD, but am afraid what will happen if I play this through a simple set of headphones, so I'll just put in a quick call to Los Alamos before I spin this particular one. Either way, I'm sure it'll convince any future prospective neighbors that they really don't like my neighborhood much anyways, and hell, I got a t-shirt outta it too, so fuck all. The title says it all; "Hysteria Driven," indeed.

Finally after long last (yeah i know everyones been dying for it) the LA deathrock photo Journal is back.

Saturday March 6th: Deathrock lunch @ Swingers
Day before the Drop Dead festival Los Angeles! Represent: Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York, New Jersey, LA, Texas, England, and probably more indirectly! It was a great time. I more or less have been going here every week lately, this time we just had 20+ people instead of like, 2-3! nydecay, xianvox, murderpuppet, dj_fact50 and catyanna, faustdreaming, mrprozac, marksplatter, shadow reichenstein, mikey, greg speedcrazy, taen, ben, and a few others.
